Church leaders are equipped
The church is the main partner of the Bible Society of Kenya in Bible work. One way the Society is reaching out to churches is through the empowerment of pastors, especially in marginalized areas, through the Fundamentals of Life Study Bible.
This is one of the resources we have for pastors to help them in their ministry, especially those who have a calling but do not have the privilege of going to a theological college.
BSK has recently conducted trainings in various districts to empower pastors and provide them with the Life Essentials Study Bible. This Bible is unique in that it includes reading, listening and viewing aspects of 1500 biblical principles explained in expositions made by Dr. Gene Goetz. The Christian Standard Version of this Bible also makes it easier for pastors to understand and interact with.
On March 3, 2023, BSK held a training session for 40 pastors of the Reformed Church of East Africa in Eldoret. Other successful trainings were held on March 7 and 8, 2023 at the PEFA Church in Mount Kenya for 37 pastors, 33 Isiolo district pastors and 42 Machakos district pastors.
The Society is committed to providing more training to empower pastors, especially in marginalized areas. The most exciting aspect of this Bible, according to the pastors, is the fact that technology is built into it that allows the user to read, watch, listen to and understand the principles contained in it, which they can then apply in their lives. The pastors are very grateful to BSK for giving them the Word of God so that they can share it with their congregations.
