Hanse Mission, Kilifi County: Long-Term Impact

God is always doing something new, bigger, better and bigger as time goes by. Then we can at any cost tune in to the best that He does today.

Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who believes in me will do the works that I do; and do great things, because I go to my Father. John 14:20.

The beauty of partnerships

The Bible Society of Kenya conducted a mission in partnership with Compassion International and various churches in Kenya to reach communities in Kilifi County, located in coastal Kenya, from May 22-28, 2023.

Kilifi County, located on the coast of Kenya, is a region rich in history, culture and natural beauty, a well-known group of people is the Girima, a sub-tribe of the Mijikenda. The administrative center of the district is the city of Kilifi, where various communities live, including the Hanse district. The mission was aimed at spreading a message of hope and faith among the local population.

In the recent past, there has been a growing problem with cultism and the occult in this region, and this was a great moment to share the TRUTH, the WORD OF GOD with those affected.

We had unforgettable experiences with various activities that included door-to-door evangelism, open-air crusades, Jesus film screenings, school service, children’s fun day, Sunday school teacher training, and house building. In all of this, we got an opportunity to talk about Jesus!

Influence

The mission of evangelism had a profound effect on the spiritual life of the people in the Hansa. Many people embraced Christianity, finding comfort and hope in the teachings of Christ. The mission gave people the opportunity to reflect on their lives, ask for forgiveness and experience spiritual renewal. Many have been delivered from evil spirits and cast out of demons in the name of Jesus Christ! Others, who have been in the chains of alcoholism, false beliefs, have come to know the Truth.

More than 3075 people were BORN AGAIN! Including former medicine men, Muslims, old and young! Discipleship sessions are already taking place in the churches of the region at the highest level.

Thank God for the mega Harvest! Everyone we met received portions of the Bible from the Bible Society of Kenya.

An evangelistic mission in Hansa, Kilifi County, brought hope, transformation and strength to the local population. This has not only affected the spiritual life of the people, but also contributed to social cohesion, improved living conditions, economic empowerment and sustainable development. The mission legacy continues to inspire and uplift the community, creating a lasting impact that transcends faith.
